It's Your Faith

            “It’s not your father’s Oldsmobile,” an advertising slogan of several years ago, is appropriate for this time of year as new students head off to college and returning students look forward to another year of learning and exploring very different from their parents.    Trying things out for yourself  - from clothes to class subjects to friends  - is a major part of the college/university years.  Mom and dad aren’t around to advise (or dictate); this can be good news as well as bad news; and it gives mom and dad gray hair!  

            How about  church life – your  faith in God?   Confirmation class was at least three years ago.  Home congregation and “the way we’ve always done it” is left behind.  Maybe worship wasn’t high on the priority list those last couple years in high school. 

             Come and check out your local Lutheran Campus Ministry.  Watch for signs and invitations to explore this area of your life - - and grow.  From worship to service projects to struggling with the difficult questions of this time and culture to a welcome and safe place to explore who you are and what God intends for you to be: these are all part of Lutheran Campus Ministry – in North Dakota and surrounding states.

             Check it out!  It doesn’t need to be your father’s – or mother’s – faith anymore.  It’s yours!!
